Executive Director Kirsten MacDougal embarks on new adventure

It is with a sense of appreciation and gratitude that the Board of Directors of Adventure Crew announces the departure of our Executive Director, Kirsten MacDougal. After nearly five years helping Adventure Crew connect Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky teens with nature, Kirsten will be leaving in October to start her next professional chapter.

The results of Kirsten’s passion and leadership as executive director have been transformative. Among her significant contributions are strategic visioning; adventure, staff and school expansion; launching environmental education and mental health initiatives such as Crew Pathways, Crew Cares and Mighty Dozen; strengthening partner relationships; and most importantly, establishing financial stability. Thanks to her diligence, Kirsten leaves Adventure Crew strong, sustainable and poised for future growth.

The Board of Directors, Kirsten and Adventure Crew staff are committed to executing a seamless transition, prioritizing our mission of connecting city teens with nature and each other through outdoor adventures. Our impactful programming and strong community events, including Ohio River Paddlefest and the Great Ohio River Swim, will continue to be the standard that you have come to expect from Adventure Crew.

We will soon launch a comprehensive search for a new executive director. In the interim please direct any questions or needs about Adventure Crew operations to Miriam Wise, director of support and engagement at miriam@adventurecrew.org.

We are so thankful to our Crew community for your continued support.
