Meet the Crew: Miriam Wise, staff
If you've been part of our Crew for a while, you may already know Miriam Wise. Maybe you've met her at one of our community events or been in touch with her about partnering or donating to support the Crew.
Miriam, who serves as Adventure Crew's director of support and engagement, came on staff full-time in 2015 (after serving as a school advisor for two years) and has since worked tirelessly toward advancing our mission, connecting city teens with nature and each other through engaging outdoor adventures.
She has been a driving force in growing the organization to where it is today, 10 years after its founding. Her contributions have included helping develop and execute our first strategic plan; building a development strategy from the ground up; implementing an entirely new brand; and conceiving new programs, like the critical skill-building Swim Training Program.
Adventure Crew has gained a broader audience through projects Miriam has overseen, such as the Great Ohio River Swim, Outdoors for All Guide and Ohio River Paddlefest. Under her direction, the latter event, recognized as the nation’s largest paddling celebration, has grown to become the major annual fundraiser for the Crew. Her innovative approach keeps us moving forward, and her ability to build relationships keeps supporters engaged and willing to give their time and treasure to amplify our impact.
When she’s not working, Miriam enjoys sipping a good cocktail with friends, cooking tasty meals and of course, spending time outside. Cheers to Miriam and all she does for the Crew!
