CREW Growth - Miriam Wise Promoted to Associate Director
In response to the demand for Adventure Crew services and the untapped potential to connect more city teens to nature, we are building out our organization this year to support long term, steady growth. The first important piece to this growth is the promotion of Miriam Wise to Associate Director for Operations and Advancement.
While many have witnessed Miriam's strong leadership, relationship-building, follow-through and organizational skills related to Paddlefest, there is that same level of excellence in all the work she’s done for Adventure Crew. Miriam’s new position will provide me with even more focus on Vision and Board integration, helping move Adventure Crew forward to fulfill our 2022 Strategic Plan. I’ve every confidence that Miriam will be instrumental to this plan.
Miriam started with Adventure Crew several years back, almost at its very beginning. Originally from Knoxville, TN, Miriam found her way to Cincinnati after graduating from The College of Wooster with a degree in Sociology. She arrived in the Queen City in 2013 to serve with AmeriCorps in one of our CPS schools, Gamble Montessori. It was there that Miriam first became an Adviser for what was then called, Outdoor Adventure Clubs of Greater Cincinnati (OAC). She then joined the Crew in a full-time capacity, taking on responsibility for managing development and marketing and soon she was running Paddlefest as well.
In her new role, Miriam will oversee the day-to-day operational needs of the organization, as well as grow to oversee two new part-time positions: Administrative Business Coordinator (currently seeking to hire) and a Communications/Events Specialist (future hire in 2020). Additionally, similar to her current work, Miriam will help drive a comprehensive advancement plan for Adventure Crew that raises resources and public interest.
